Information for visually impaired voters during the Elections of the President of the Republic and Referendums

For the first time, citizens of the Republic of Lithuania with visual impairments will be able to vote without the help of others: independently and in secret. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) plans to offer the opportunity for voters with visual impairments to use a magnifying glass in each municipality and every polling station.

The CEC prepares special ballot papers, which will enable the visually impaired voters to vote without the help of others. Voters who are visually impaired will be given an election ballot paper put in a special case, which will indicate places for a voting choice.

Moreover, the publications containing key information about elections, electoral procedures, lists of candidates and their programs have been published in the Braille edition. and the CEC has adapted its website for people using a language synthesizer.
