67 percent of polling stations are accessible for people with disabilities

The efforts made at the end of last year by the Central Electoral Commission, the Lithuanian Association of Municipalities and the Lithuanian Disability Forum have started to give positive results.

67 percent of polling stations are accessible for people with disabilities

According to the CEC data, the number of polling stations accessible for people with disabilities increased by more than 435. In this respect, 1 322 polling stations out of 1 970 are accessible for people with disabilities, i.e. 67 percent.

According to the recent data, the polling stations which are accessible for people with disabilities in municipalities are distributed in the following way:

100% of the polling stations were accessible for people with disabilities in 3 municipalities;
70–99% of polling stations in 12 municipalities;
50–69% of polling stations in 20 municipalities;
30–49% of polling stations in 8 municipalities;
15–29% of polling districts in 9 municipalities
and less than 15% of polling stations in 8 municipalities.
