Persons who have been found legally incapable by the court shall not participate in the Elections

Article 34 of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania states that citizens who, on the day of the elections, have reached 18 years of age shall have the electoral right. Noting that citizens who have been declared incapable by the court do not participate in the Elections.

The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Lithuania (CEC) prepares electoral rolls before each election and organises their elaboration.

In accordance with the Law, court decisions that declared persons to be legally incapable had to be reviewed.

Due to this legal reform, a higher number of voters gained the right to vote.
