12 May – Elections of the President of the Republic and referendums in the Republic of Lithuania began smoothly

On May 12 at 7 a.m. 1 972 polling stations opened doors for the voters in the Republic of Lithuania. Today 2 479 668 voters elect the President of the Republic in direct elections and express their views on Amendments to Articles 12 and 55 of the Constitution by Referendums.

The Election Day morning began calmly, with no problems. Up to 10 a.m. (in Lithuania and abroad), 7.26% of voters have already visited the polling stations. In total, 18.01% of voters have already voted in the Elections, along with the voters who came to vote in the early voting.
